Standalone DP: Distribution Function based on customer order patterns

Hello,

We are doing a pre-deployment of Demand Planning with integrations into and out of our legacy ERP systems.  Our products are very short shelf life, high value, low margin and very short order lead time.  Therefore we will be doing DP for these products in daily buckets.  We will be going back 1 year in daily buckets and going forward 90 days into the future.

In our legacy application, we create a grouping of ship-to's and products together and are able to define what the daily customer order pattern is for these combinations.  As an example, this group of customers and products only order on Monday's, Wednesday's and Friday's every week.  Therefore, in legacy the statistical forecast only creates values on Mon, Wed and Fri. Another group of customers/products may be only on Tue and Thur.

So my question is there a way to handle something like this in DP?  I realize that when we introduce SNP/PPDS in the future we could utilize the period split functionality.  But since that is several years a way I am hoping there is a solution native to DP.  Perhaps using distribution functions and/or macros?  Maintaining something in the CVC?  Looking for any ideas on this matter.

Thanks in advance.
