Can APO macro use variables for iteration (From Period, To Period)?

Hello experts,

We need to determine the number of frozen month based on production horizon from product master. Is there any standard SNP function to accomplish this or we have to write a BAPI to do it? Once we got the number of frozen month, we want to use it to determine the From Period for macro iteration. Can this be done?
