Changes in Ship to Party to VMI Sales Orders in ECC

Hi Folks,

We are facing an issue in our Supply Network.

We have mapped the Customers in APO as VMI Customers (Sold to Party Customers)

The forecast is put on Customers and Heuristics run is taken on Customer which throws a Distribution Demand Planned on the sourcing location.

After Production Planning at sourcing location, Deployment runs from Sourcing location to Customers in APO. This is followed by TLB execution.

The result of TLB is a VMI Sales Order (TLB Distribution Demand Confirmed ) on the sourcing location which goes as a Sales Order in ECC.

At the Customer location in APO, we get a TLB Distribution receipts confirmed element. In ECC, both the Sold To and SHip to Party in the Sales Order are same till this point in time.

Now, we have several Ship to Party Locations for the same Sold to Party Customer in ECC. What business does is that, they manually change the Ship to Party in the VMI Sales Order in Sourcing location directly in ECC keeping the Sold to Party unchanged. The result of this is that, the Destination of the Sales Order changes from Sold to Party to Ship to Party at the Sourcing location in APO and the Sales Order still remains there in Sourcing Location which is correct. But the TLB Distribution Receipt confirmed receipt element vanishes from APO from the Customer location and the next Heuristics run again generates a new Distribution receipt Planned which results into doubling of the creation of Sales Orders created after TLB run.

One solution to this is to put the forecast on Ship to Party in APO. However, this is infeasible for the Business due to some reasons.

I have got an SAP Note as well which clearly suggests that the manual changes in VMI Sales Orders in ECC are not supported in SAP APO.

Thus we are looking for a solution and understand how other Clients are handling this as this would be common for many of the Businesses.

Many Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,

Vikram
